Online Gamers Solve Molecular Puzzle!

Online gamers from around the globe worked together to figure out the detailed molecular structure of a protein-cutting enzyme from an AIDS-like virus found in rhesus monkey.  The puzzle of this retrovirus stumped scientists for over a decade before being solved by online gamers in under ten days.

Bad. Ass.  This step, it is believed, will likely lead to major advancements in treating and preventing formidable virus’ such as AIDS.
